Updates, Patching, Operations & Support

Updates & patching

  • Agent / Sensor updates: automatic, with a manual or Intune fallback
  • Server updates: automatic
  • Versioning: semantic versioning

In most cases, sensor updates are a non-issue: the sensor has a built-in update mechanism that automatically downloads and installs the latest version.

On some systems this isn't possible due to security restrictions. In those cases, manually download the latest version and install it as described in the installation guide — this can also be done via Intune.

Updates are almost always backward-compatible with the previous version, so you can upgrade the sensor safely without downtime. If you prefer to manage updates yourself, you can disable all automatic update checks in the config.json file; see the advanced section for details.

Troubleshooting

  • If the problem persists, contact support and include the following information:
    • Application version (shown in the top-left corner)
    • Operating system
    • Logs (~/Library/Logs/shigoto.sensor/main.log)
